CANDLE TIPS

The last thing you want to see when lighting your favorite candle is black smoke. Definitely not the mood you want to set-let's talk about the simple steps it takes to correct this.

  • Candles do not like to burn too hot; it can create smoke and make your candle burn faster. To avoid the candle getting too hot, avoid burning it for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Trim the wick after each burn and be sure to properly dispose of wick trimmings. You may use a wick trimmer, scissors or nail clippers. Your wick should be trimmed to ¼ inch above the set wax. Doing this will also extend the life of your candle.

  • Don't forget to inspect for dust or debris before lighting. It may seem goofy, but those sneaky particles can mess up the wick or wax by catching fire, resulting in a smoky burn.

Don't be rude to your candle. Trim your wick!
